RIDES

All weekend rides originate from the Hotwire Coffee Shop on 4410 California Ave SW in West Seattle at 8AM PDT or 9AM PST (Rain or Shine). When the clocks change, so do the departure times. The rides and any additional events or changes are announced on our Facebook Page.

Midweek rides are random and sometimes spontaneous. They occur more often during the longer days of the summer months. Announcements are typically made on the Facebook Page.

Routes are sometimes predetermined or they may be suggested while everyone is sitting around grabbing their “discounted” coffee’s. They are typically determined by time as opposed to mileage. It’s the weekend and we all understand, “I only have a few hours to ride…” There are also those that want to get “after it” on the weekends, so there is that option as well.  If you are not sure about the pace, please ask. You may get “dropped”,  however there will be regroup points during the rides. You will not be left behind.

There are a number of members whom race. Criteriums, Cyclocross, MTB and Gran Fondo’s…

For those who do race, we do establish a tent at local cyclocross races in the fall as a gathering point and hangout for our club. We will have tools, coffee and other goodies available throughout the day. We encourage you to join us for one of the races (racing or watching) as these events are an absolute blast.

Gravel Rides

Some of the club has been getting off the road and onto the trail of late. As a club member you’ll have access to our discord where we plan rides often. Our gravel routes often include…

Mountain Biking

Blurb about our downhill rides, and Wednesday Night Worlds.

What is Cyclocross?

Racing. Bikes. Beers…

And lots of Cowbell. Cyclocross is at the heart of why Alki Velo became a club. Your fall weekends will never be the same again.
